Yuko Shimizu is a New York based illustrator and an instructor at School of Visual Arts (SVA).
In 1999, she moved to NY from Tokyo, leaving behind 11 years of career in PR, to pursue her childhood dream of becoming an artist. Yuko graduated with MFA in Illustration from SVA in 2003, and illustrating and teaching since.
Her work may sometimes seem strange, but Yuko is not as weird as you think. Her addiction includes: excellent milk chocolate, about 10-15 cups of black tea with milk a day, good art of any genre, traveling to places she's never been, and of course, drawing.
You can learn more about Yuko and her work on her website. And you can also read the interview Yuko gave to Matt Huynh for Yellowtrace!
